What Is Toy Grade Remote Control?
Toy grade is what we call the entry level of remote control, typically the kind of thing you would get for your kids during Christmas. Recently there has been some major improvements in technology and cost to produce that has seen some very impressive kits, there kind of fall in between toy-grade and race-grade RC toys, if you want an example have a look at the LAMA V3, it's an amazing bit of kit, but most serious chopper pilots will tell you it's a toy.
When I was a kid the best toy-grade RC has a long wire attached to it, things have changed a lot since then. Toy-Grade as the name implies are toys, they can take a beating, but don't really try to simulate it's bigger counterpart. Toy-Grade is also considerably cheaper, always come fully assembled and you will never need a soldering iron
Today you can get semi toy grade remote control cars, helicopters, submarines, boats and even planes, most of these can't be given to kids, but are perfect for someone who want to give it a try without investing too much money, remote control is not for every one, there is a lot of work involved, it's easy to get frustrated because you can't get your car competitive or you waste countless hours trying to get it working. By going with the entry level kits you can feel the water and not be out of pocket should it turn out remote control helicopters are not your thing ;)
